What to write
A short version of your life
Share a short version of your life story. Your family life, your successes, your hardships, what you loved and hated most. Let the people who can associate with what you went through pick you when considering to whom they will gift the things they no longer use.
Why it matters
Stories decide who gets the gift
When you’re in need of something a member has listed, choose “In need of this, please bless me.” The owner sees everyone who asked under “In need, could use this,” reads each story, and picks the person they connect with most. You need a story before you can ask.
The heading
His Story, Her Story or Their Story
You choose what your story is called. An optional gender question (Male, Female, Transgender, Non-binary, Other, or Prefer not to say; pick any that fit) only suggests a heading. Whatever you answer, you pick the heading you identify with.
Who sees what
Sign up to read members’ life stories
Life stories are for members only, so join free to read them. Members see your story and its heading on your profile. Your answer to the gender question is never shown to anyone, and we never use either for ads or sell them.
Then encourage your church group, civic group, coworkers, school friends and colleagues to join too, so you can all start turning storage unit and garage clutter into the goods and services you need.
The rules
Keep it yours, keep it safe
Up to 1,500 characters. No phone numbers, emails or links: members message you in the app. Write only what you’re comfortable sharing. Stories follow the same content rules as the rest of ShareWeaver.
How to add yours
Account, then My Story
Open the app, tap Account, and find My Story under your profile photo. It’s also in Community under Edit my profile. Write it, pick your heading, and tap Save my story.
ShareWeaver is about being authentic and honest with each other, and every member is welcome here. See A better way of gifting for what your story makes possible.
